FIFA Moves to Avalanche

The FIFA Blockchain, built on Avalanche’s high-performance platform, offers fast transactions and low costs for millions of fans. Avalanche’s scalability, handling over 6,500 transactions per second, ensures smooth digital interactions for global audiences. Fans can expect secure digital collectibles like the FIFA Collect marketplace, with enhanced features. 

The NFT marketplace allows football fans to buy and sell rare and authentic football-related digital assets. In addition to the collectibles, fans gain access to exclusive football events and experiences.

The blockchain’s Ethereum compatibility allows integration with tools like MetaMask, making access easier for users. This partnership positions FIFA as a leader in sports-related Web3 innovation.

Past Blockchain Ventures

FIFA’s blockchain journey began in 2022 with an NFT collection launched on the Algorand blockchain for the Qatar World Cup. This initial step introduced digital collectibles, engaging fans with unique, tradeable assets tied to football moments. In April 2025, the soccer body hinted at shifting to an Ethereum-compatible blockchain to improve scalability.
