The crypto world is reeling from a strange saga involving Jeffy Yu, co-founder of Zerebro, who was rumored to have died by suicide on May 4, 2025, during a livestream. An obituary on Legacy.com initially fueled the tragedy, but its sudden deletion and new evidence from Bubblemaps have sparked wild theories.

Is the Zerebro Founder Dead or Alive?

Blockchain data confirms that a wallet tied to Yu sold over $100,000 in ZEREBRO tokens and traded LLJEFFY tokens days after his supposed death. Posts on X, including from @Official_Bitbot, claim Yu faked his death to hype LLJEFFY, which surged 7600% before crashing.

Jeffy Yu, a 22-year-old tech genius, entered Stanford at 15 to study computer science. He co-founded Zerebro, an AI-powered crypto project that soared to an $800 million valuation in six months. Yu’s vision was to “rehumanize technology,” merging AI and blockchain to create unique content. His ZEREBRO token hit a $600 million market cap by late 2024, backing his status as a crypto innovator.

Known for his poetic approach to coding, Yu was reportedly a quiet yet brilliant leader. However, his alleged suicide and subsequent wallet activity have raised doubts about his fate, with many questioning the narrative.

Jeffy Yu’s Background

Yu’s influence shone through major partnerships. He worked with Sonic Labs and DoraHacks on the Sonic DeFAI Hackathon, guiding developers on ZerePy, Zerebro’s open-source AI tool. With co-founder Tint, Yu launched Zentients, a platform to make AI agent creation accessible to all. These efforts highlighted his drive for innovation.

Yet, his status is now in question. X posts, like one from @CoinRank_io citing Wonderland’s Daniele Sesta, claim Yu is alive, supported by wallet trades and a deleted obituary. Irene Zhao’s post on May 6, quoting an insider, also suggested Yu faked his death. Zerebro’s silence fuels the speculation.

Meanwhile, before the controversy, Yu shared bold plans. He introduced “Legacoins,” a memecoin model focused on legacy, with LLJEFFY as its first. He also announced Zerebro’s integration with research data aggregators to boost AI features, aiming for a broader impact. Whether Yu is alive or not, his plans continue to stir debate, leaving the crypto community eager for answers.
